December 6th 2007
Sheffield Chamber of Commerce Business
Awards 2007
Williama Fasteners were nominated for
two awards at this years ceremony – The
CBS Outdoor Sales & Customer Service
Award and The Learning Light Training &
Development Award.
We were delighted to win the Sales &
Customer Service Award, as we won this
award the previous year and, as far as
we understand, have been the first
company to retain the title.
“Excellent customer service is at the
heart of our business”, says Tony
Searles, Chairman of Williams
Fasteners. “We are in a very
competitive environment and in order to
compete with company’s a lot bigger than
ourselves, we have to differentiate our
services and make sure that we offer
that extra touch that keeps our
customers returning day after day. We
have a number of long standing
contracts, and we have learnet through
our relationships with them what our
customer wants. We know we don’t always
get it right, but we learn from our
mistakes and improve every day with our
product and service.”
After the floods of 2007, many
businesses were badly hit, not just in
Sheffield but around the country and we
did our best to be able to help them get
back on their feet. It was the action
of our consignment driver, Steve
Fletcher, that impressed the judges. He
took our vision statement of solving the
customers problems even before they
occur to heart by calling his customers
and offering help and assistance during
this difficult time. By relieving them
of any headaches in ensuring that their
fastener and fixing stock was up to
date, allowed them to concentrate on
more important things.
Tony adds “We encourage all our staff to
think of how they can help and assist
the customer, whether this is internal
or external. This way, the co-operation
between branches and departments within
the company run smoothly and this can
only reflect on improvements to the
service provided to our clients. If we
keep our customers happy, they keep
coming back and that is what makes us
successful”.
